FAQ

  • What is Reformer Pilates?

A reformer is a Pilates apparatus that uses springs, pulleys, and a gliding carriage to provide challenge and support. It helps improve strength, flexibility, alignment, and control—whether you’re a beginner or an advanced mover.

Reformer Pilates offers adjustable resistance, greater exercise variety, and more support—making it ideal for rehabilitation, injury prevention, and building strength with precision.

At Éirigh Pilates, sessions are guided by a clinically qualified and registered reformer Pilates instructor, ensuring your movement is safe, personalised, and effective.

  • Do I need experience to join a class?

Not at all. We welcome all levels, including complete beginners, or those who need special considerations due to a physical condition or a previous history of injury - just make sure to talk your instructor before the class so we can best support your ability and safety.

  • How intense are the classes? (The question everyone really wants answered!)

The short answer: it’s totally up to you!

At Éirigh Pilates, classes can be as gentle or challenging as you want them to be.

Our classes are all about connection: tuning into your body, communicating with your instructor, and moving in a way that feels right for you.

Éirigh is about mindful, purposeful movement that builds strength, improves posture, and supports your wellbeing—without the “no pain, no gain” mindset.

Classes offer options to scale exercises up or down, so you can move at your own pace, whether you want a gentle session or a more challenging workout.

Sometimes you’ll feel the burn, sometimes the quiet changes in how you stand, sit, or move will be your biggest win. Both are signs you’re on the right path and that you’ve had a great workout.

  • Who should book a 1:1 session, and when?

A 1:1 session is ideal for:

    - New clients who are just starting Pilates and want a personalised introduction

    - Anyone with injuries, chronic pain, or medical conditions who may need modifications or clinical guidance

    - Clients looking for tailored progression or support with specific goals (e.g. core strength, postural alignment, postnatal recovery)

    - Those transitioning from physiotherapy into movement-based rehabilitation

    - Anyone who prefers a private setting over group classes

We recommend starting with a 1:1 session which includes an initial assessment if you're unsure which class is right for you, or if it's been a while since you’ve exercised. This allows us to understand your needs and design the best approach for your body.

  • How do I book a class?

The easiest way to book is online through our website or via the LegitFit App, where you can view the full timetable, pricing, and package options.

You can also contact us directly to book and pay on site. We accept card and cash payments.

If you're looking to book a Small Group session or a Private 1:1 session, please get in touch with us directly for more information on these services and to arrange a suitable time.

  • How long do classes last, and when should I arrive?

Our Reformer Pilates classes run for 50 minutes.

We recommend arriving at least 5 minutes early to settle in. If it’s your first time, please arrive 10 minutes early so we can properly welcome you, give you a quick tour of the studio and reformer, and have a brief chat about any relevant clinical history.

Please note, arriving late to class may mean you cannot join, as the warm-up is an essential part of preparing your body for exercise and reducing injury risk.

  • What should I wear and bring to my session?

Wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move freely. Grip socks are recommended for hygiene and safety (and can be purchased onsite) but bare feet are your next best option. Bring a water bottle and an open mind—everything else is provided.

  • What facilities are available on site?

Éirigh Pilates is located within Coole Chartered Physiotherapy, with the following facilities available:

  • What is your cancellation policy?

We require at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a session.
Late cancellations or missed appointments will incur the full session fee.

This allows us to offer your spot to another client and keep the schedule running smoothly. Thank you for understanding.
